Research on college students' perceptions of police has largely focused on single college/university samples. This mixed-method study expands that knowledge by looking at why college students perceive the police based on a national study. The primary aim of this study is to understand how individual intersectional identity influences police perception. The study utilized a national sample of over 1100 college students through an online survey platform. Results examine perceptions of police and the reasons why these perceptions may be positive/negative. Policy and research recommendations will be discussed.
