Abstract

Concern over increases in youth violence has received substantial attention, leading to changes in policy and practice. This presentation will draw on national law enforcement data from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting System to examine trends in youth arrests for violent crimes, including offense and demographic-specific patterns. The presentation will highlight recent changes in youth arrests and historical trends to contextualize and deepen understanding of the current data.
