Identifying Situational Drivers of Homicide

Abstract

This presentation examines the situational factors that have accompanied homicide trends in a large urban setting. Analyzing detailed homicide investigation data from 1990 through 2023, this project focuses on factors that contribute to homicide solvability and may suit problem-oriented approaches to preventing lethal violence.
