Radicalization leading to violent extremism is a growing global concern. While numerous interventions aim to prevent this process, the evidence base for primary prevention remains fragmented. This presentation describes the development and preliminary findings of an Evidence and Gap Map focused on primary interventions designed to prevent cognitive and behavioral radicalization. The EGM systematically identifies, categorizes, and maps existing research from 2012-2024, encompassing a wide range of interventions (educational programs, community engagement, online initiatives) across diverse settings. The map utilizes a two-dimensional framework based on the cognitive and behavioral dimensions of radicalization, allowing for a nuanced understanding of intervention approaches. Preliminary findings highlight the distribution of research across intervention types, target populations, and outcomes, revealing both areas of concentrated evidence and significant gaps. The EGM's interactive format enhances accessibility for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners, informing future research priorities, resource allocation, and program development in the field of countering violent extremism. The presentation will discuss the EGM methodology, key findings, and implications for future research and practice. We will also demonstrate unique features of the EGM, including our innovative use of Large Language Models to streamline the review process, incorporating rigorous human oversight and validation at all stages.
