Abstract

As a formerly incarcerated scholar, I rely on critical reflexivity and autoethnographic methods to analyze lived experience of Arizona’s prison system as a carceral geographer. My presentation wrestles with the challenges of turning one’s FI status into the means for epistemological innovation and career development in the academy.
