Improving Responses to Labor Trafficking: Final Findings from an Assessment in Nebraska

Fri, Nov 14, 2:00 to 3:20pm, Independence Salon H - M4

Abstract

In an effort to understand labor trafficking in Nebraska, an assessment was conducted using a multi-phased approach. Surveys and semi-structured interviews with stakeholders and service providers were gathered to inform the following research objectives: (1) what is the nature of labor trafficking in the state; (2) what are the challenges of law enforcement and legal actors when investigating these crimes; and (3) what are the challenges of service providers when responding to survivors. Analyses are ongoing. This presentation will provide final findings from the project, including key themes identified during the interview process that can inform implications for future response efforts.
