This paper aims to provide a systematic literature review that examines the conceptual and operational definitions of two key concepts: (1) self-esteem (SE) and (2) aggression. To fully understand the relationship between self-esteem and aggression, a systematic review is essential for two main reasons. First, it is crucial to document the historical development and research evolution of these concepts. Second, it is necessary to explore how individual studies within this field are interconnected with broader research in literature. The systematic review was conducted using three databases: Scopus, PubMed, and PsycINFO. The initial search yielded 2,572 peer-reviewed articles published between 1960 and 2023. After reviewing the abstracts, 112 articles were selected for a full-text assessment.
