What Works for Me? Participant Perceptions and Experiences of Substance Use Treatment in a Drug Court Setting

Abstract

Using focus group data, the current study explores perceptions of effective treatment among drug court participants in an urban setting. Findings focus on the nature of substance use treatment with a focus on group and individual counseling, treatment activities, barriers to service, and post-program success planning. Additionally, perceptions of staff knowledge and fairness are explored. Policy and research implications will be discussed.
