What Hurrell-Harring Was Supposed to Do

• In Event: Data in Indigent Defense: Gauging Improvement in Defense Efforts and Outcomes in New York: Preliminary Findings

Abstract

The 2015 settlement of the lawsuit Hurrell-Harring v. State of New York marked the beginning of a large injection of funding into indigent defense services in the state. In this presentation, the Deason Center will lay out its theory of change for the reform, and historical evidence of its implementation to date.
