Abstract

This presentation provides a theoretical background on the value of researcher-practitioner collaboration in developing, implementing, and evaluating trauma-informed victim services. The concepts and literature reviewed in this presentation will inform the audience of the approach utilized by the other panelists, each of whom will discuss a specific trauma-informed intervention that they implemented with a community partner. The focus of this presentation is to provide background on trauma-informed care and its applications relating to crime victims as well as to discuss strategies for engaging with community partners.
