Our study uses a quasi-experimental design (QED) to assess the incident-level outcomes of individuals who receive a HEART/BHRT response compared to individuals who receive a traditional police response. We use administrative data from 911 Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Police Record Management Systems (RMS), and HEART/BHRT administrative data to evaluate the differences in incident reports, arrests, citations, and voluntary transports between treatment and control conditions. We also assess the impact of alternative responses on police operations, including officer time and resources. This presentation will describe the QED for each program, key analysis findings, and the implications for alternative response strategies.
