Mental health and wellness are top issues for criminal justice and public safety professionals. Additionally, there is a lack of research on such professionals in rural environments. Our research reports on a study of criminal justice and public safety professionals in an East Coast rural area. Our analysis focuses on the willingness to seek treatment amongst survey respondents. The sample is drawn from multiple public safety agencies in a rural east coast area. We examine the impacts of stigma, burnout, and job satisfaction on willingness to seek treatment. The results of our analysis and implications for our results are discussed.
