In the face of increasing national and global pushback on the rights of women, it is crucial to hold international organizations accountable for the human rights guarantees that they enshrined from their creation. This research aims to examine the nature and extent of guarantees in three topics typically called feminist criminology: victims/survivors of gender-based violence, professionals in the world’s criminal legal systems, and offenders/incarcerated women. Central to the theme of the 69th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), the project involves a detailed content analysis of the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. The findings from the content analysis explore the extent to which the CSW is enlightened in discussing, and committed to addressing, issues of women involved in criminal legal systems.
