School disciplinary policies, particularly the use of suspensions and expulsions have long been scrutinized for their role in shaping trajectories in the criminal justice system. While prior research has established links between school discipline and criminal justice outcomes, less is known about how exclusionary punishment influences juvenile justice outcomes. Drawing on data from the Florida State University and Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Research Partnership Project, we investigate whether students with histories of suspensions and expulsions impact juvenile justice involvement. The research findings and implications will be discussed.
