Federal Immigration Offense Trends using the FCCPS

Abstract

The Federal Criminal Case Processing Statistics (FCCPS) dashboard is an interactive webtool that allows users to analyze federal case processing data collected through the Federal Justice Statistics Program. The Bureau of Justice Statistics recently completed a redesign of this data tool that enhanced its capabilities to include interactive data visualizations and advanced filters. Utilizing queries generated from the newly designed dashboard, this presentation analyzes immigration offenses at the law enforcement, courts/prosecution, and incarceration phases of the federal criminal justice system. Major trends from 1998 through 2023 will be discussed.
