Inter-facility transfers are a relatively common experience for incarcerated people in the United States. Recent studies suggest these transfers may be disruptive, but also potentially useful for connecting people to resources. The goal of this study is to examine the impact of transfers on in-prison programming. Doing so will advance knowledge about how seemingly routine aspects of prison administration, especially those made more prevalent due to the vast size of prison systems, affect people and correctional goals.
