Objective: Upon building its foundational model, the Philadelphia DATA CoLab aims to work with partners to identify their data needs and goals and develop a project. Projects should aim to use data and analytical capacity available through the DATA Lab to develop or enhance a project/program which enacts local solutions to local problems.
Methods: Data requests are fulfilled by the District Attorney’s Office. CoLab staff support project partners in building their data interpretation and use capacities to inform their chosen project. Using a workshop model, the CoLab engages community stakeholders in data-informed discussions, participatory exercises, and trainings to build data capacity for their targeted projects and future community-based endeavors.
Conclusions/Implications: Following implementation of model, the DATA CoLab partners should have enhanced capacity to use data to inform programming and advocacy efforts within their communities. Additionally, they will be able to use their CoLab data access and data capacity to complete a data driven project of their choice and design.
