Measuring Impact & Reach: Informing Future Efforts & Engagements

Wed, Nov 12, 3:30 to 4:50pm, Marquis Salon 15 - M2

Abstract

Objective: The DATA CoLab aims to help measure and communicate partner impact and reach along with lessons from the model for adoption in other offices and cities.

Methods: To assess the impact of the DATA CoLab Model and associated outreach with the eight community partners and other engagement activities, the DATA CoLab has developed pre- and post-surveys. These surveys are administered with each community partner with the goal of improving the overall DATA CoLab model while identifying areas of improvement for community engagement initiatives that are co-developed between the PDAO and community partners. The pre- and post-surveys will enable the DATA CoLab to assess workshops, timelines, processes, communication, and the goals outlined in the initial grant narrative.

Conclusions/Implications: The DATA CoLab aims to center community voices as experts in their own experiences and believes that data access and support bolsters their voices and abilities to enact change. The DATA CoLab is learning and disseminating lessons from this novel data sharing program in the hopes that other District Attorney’s Offices and criminal legal system stakeholders can implement similar models in the future.
