The integration of Generative AI in education is reshaping student engagement with learning, research, and coursework. This study examines its pedagogical applications and academic integrity implications through structured coursework, discussions, and surveys involving 40 cybercrime students. Participants explored the benefits of Generative AI, such as enhanced research efficiency, alongside concerns about inaccuracies, biases, and ethical responsibilities. Initially viewed as a shortcut for assignments, students’ perspectives shifted to recognizing AI as a valuable but carefully regulated tool. The study highlights the need for institutional policies to ensure responsible AI use while preventing misuse. Findings emphasize the importance of ethical guidelines and proactive teaching strategies in adapting to AI-driven education. By fostering responsible AI engagement, educators can prepare students for evolving academic and professional landscapes. This research underscores the necessity of balancing technological advancements with integrity in higher education.
