Sustaining Service – Planning for ASC 2026 in Chicago

Abstract

Building on the momentum of previous ASC service initiatives, this presentation will focus on planning for the 2026 conference in Chicago. The panel will discuss strategies for expanding the reach and impact of future service events, incorporating feedback from prior projects. It will emphasize the importance of building long-term partnerships with local nonprofits and advocacy groups to ensure that service efforts are sustainable and impactful. The discussion will include proposals for new outreach activities, such as educational workshops, resource fairs, and direct service events tailored to the needs of Chicago’s marginalized communities. This presentation will also highlight the role of criminologists in fostering ongoing collaboration with the cities hosting the ASC conference, ensuring that community engagement remains an integral part of the organization’s mission moving forward.
