Case Processing Across Three States: Examining Factors Affecting Time to Disposition in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Colorado

Abstract

This presentation will highlight preliminary findings of research into factors that affect time to disposition in 128 counties across three states. Some of the findings that will be discussed include case-flow management types and their effects on case processing times, analyses of court capacity thresholds and impacts on case processing, and racial and ethnic disparities in case processing, time to disposition, and pretrial detention.
