This qualitative study explores the perceived effectiveness of peer mentors in veterans treatment courts (VTCs). Through in-depth interviews with mentors (n=22) and mentees (n=29) within four different courts, the researchers examine how both groups perceive the roles of peer mentors in supporting their rehabilitation and navigation of court requirements. The findings confirm the previous roles identified in the literature, which include enforcer, sponsor/advocate, and friend. The study also uncovers nuances within the previously discovered roles, providing additional context for future researchers to consider.
