The Sexual Violence Prevention Initiative (SVPI) is a comprehensive effort to synthesize research and evidence-based practices on sexual violence with the goal of informing prevention and management efforts. This project brings together leading experts to develop a series of in-depth literature reviews and derivative resources on key topic areas, including children with problem sexual behavior, victim-centered interventions, assessment and treatment, and prevention strategies. As SVPI aims to bridge the gaps between research, policy, and practice, a key component of the project is a national policy inventory that examines legislative and policy approaches to sexual violence prevention, offender management, and victim support. This presentation will provide an overview of the project’s scope and key research areas and introduce the policy inventory as a key resource for understanding the state of evidence-informed practices.
