Abstract

The field offices to which released prisoners report for parole supervision are dispersed widely across the state of Kentucky. The ''tyranny of distance' this entailed required a sharp break from most prior experiments in criminology. This paper describes how the project advisor collaborated with the experimenters to find the best available design solutions, while anticipating substantial challenges.
