Bullying is a social concern of many academics across several fields of study including criminology, education, and public health. Independent work by any one of these fields is likely to miss important collaborative opportunities to understand, identify, and respond to bullying. Through transdisciplinary engagement, a more impactful approach to bullying can take place. Using the National Youth Advocacy and Resilience Research Center as a case study, this paper presents a current bullying research project that assists schools in defining a variety of different types of bullying, identifying bullying when it occurs, and working within the educational setting to reduce the prevalence of bullying.
