How do individuals interpret and respond to racialized extremist narratives in digital publics? This study draws on new national survey data to examine public reactions to contemporary forms of provocative online content involving race, identity, and perceived threat. Building on existing work in political psychology and the study of extremism, the analysis explores variation in message reception, emotional responses, and reported behavioral intentions across subgroups. The findings contribute to emerging conversations at the intersection of political threat, digital misinformation, and efforts to prevent radicalization and hate-fueled violence.
