Improving the Design and Implementation of the Police-Community Collaborations

Abstract

This final paper discusses the overall findings of the pilot program, outlining the lessons learned from the program. The focus of this final paper will be on improving the design of the Neighborhood Policing Plan (NPP) program for adaptation at a larger scale in Baltimore. This includes the presentation of the updated model for the NPP, and will walk through the implementation guide for the updated NPP program. This implementation guide was developed as a result of the pilot program and emphasizes the translation of research into practice for promoting police-community collaborations at improving public safety and the root causes of crime.
