The 30x30 Initiative aims to increase the percentage of women in policing to 30% of recruit classes by the year 2030, recognizing that increased representation of women can strengthen public trust, improve outcomes, and enhance organizational equity. This study explores how agency-level characteristics and policies may influence progress toward that goal. Using multiple waves of data from the Law Enforcement Management and Administrative Statistics (LEMAS) survey, we examine representation trends across roles and assess how select practices and contextual factors shape departmental trajectories over time.
