Human trafficking survivors face many obstacles upon exiting their trafficking situation. Housing is always an immediate and lasting need. Not only do survivors face immense difficulty accessing this resource, but it is one of the most important resources survivors need to exit their trafficking situation. Utilizing data from a human trafficking victim service provider in a city in South Carolina, this presentation will examine the housing needs of human trafficking survivors, including emergency, transitional and long-term housing. The policy and practical implications of supporting survivors in this critical resource will be discussed.
