As the current Chair of the Division on People of Color and Crime, Shenique S. Thomas-Davis will share her vision for the division’s future. This presentation will focus on the opportunities and responsibilities ahead as DPCC enters its fourth decade. Thomas-Davis will discuss current initiatives, including the 30th Anniversary Celebration, and the importance of mentoring, political engagement, and cross-divisional collaboration. She will also reflect on the broader social and political context in which the division operates today, and what is needed from ASC to support and protect the work of scholars focused on race, equity, and justice. Her remarks will emphasize legacy building, leadership development, and sustaining a bold and relevant DPCC for the future.
