A Case Study Analyzing Interpol’s Red Notices for Indian Subcontinent Nationals Wanted by the U.S.

Fri, Nov 14, 8:00 to 9:20am, 2, Magnolia - Second Floor

Abstract

Using content analysis, this study examines Interpol's public Red Notices for 14 individuals from the seven Indian subcontinent countries to identify trends, patterns, and potential legal effects. Red Notices serve as worldwide fugitive alerts, encouraging cross-border law enforcement cooperation. The study examines each case's judicial outcomes, alleged violations, and demographic traits. The study looks at publicly available data to examine jurisdictional challenges, the nature of foreign law enforcement cooperation, and the types of offenses resulting in such notices. The results will improve understanding of the legal and geopolitical facets of extradition and international crime control, offering legislators, academics, and law enforcement agencies important information.
