Census of Publicly Funded Forensic Crime Laboratories active data collection

Fri, Nov 14, 3:30 to 4:50pm, Marquis Salon 8 - M2

Abstract

Since 2002, the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) has periodically conducted the Census of Publicly Funded Forensic Crime Laboratories (CPFFCL) through a survey that collects data on the staffing, budgets, workloads, resources, policies, and procedures among federal, state, and local crime labs. The 2024 CPFFCL is the sixth administration and is actively in the field. The census will provide information on lab accreditations, proficiency tests, and other quality assurances.
