Poster #125 - Immigration and Law Enforcement Trends at the Southwest Border

Abstract

Utilizing data from the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics’ (BJS) Federal Justice Statistics Program, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Homeland Security Statistics, this poster provides an overview of findings on the federal criminal immigration encounters and arrests at the Southwest U.S.-Mexico border. Federal criminal immigration arrests by CBP in U.S. district courts on the Southwest border and USBP encounters, apprehensions, and expulsions by the Southwest Border Patrol sector were analyzed.
