Biopsychosocial Criminology Needs a Research Agenda

• In Event: Lightning Talk: What’s Wrong with Developmental and Biopsychosocial Criminology – And How Can We Put It Right?

Abstract

The topics that fall under the biopsychosocial criminology umbrella are legion. The area now runs the risk of becoming a “theory that explains everything." But Popperian logic tells us that a theory that explains everything, explains nothing. To avoid this trapdoor, biopsychosocial criminology needs an organized research agenda. This lightning talk will outline the different “arms" of the biopsychosocial umbrella and will offer a first draft of a research agenda.
