Abstract

Dity Online is a SafeOnline collaborative research project between Ukraine and the UK that seeks to understand the impact of the Russian war in Ukraine on children’s vulnerability to online sexual abuse. As increasing numbers of Ukrainian children rely on the internet to access education and maintain social connections, there is a pressing need to examine how living in a conflict setting heightens their risk of harm in digital spaces. This presentation shares preliminary findings from the study and reflects on the methodological challenges of conducting school-based research in Ukraine during wartime.
