In this mixed-methods research with sex trafficking survivors, qualitative interviews were performed with individuals and clients of agencies working specifically with this population. We learned more about how persons currently residing in the Southeastern U.S. were trafficked, how they survived, and what their futures held in regard to the barriers they faced in healing and regaining their independence. The data collected from these interviews is presented in this poster, and the ultimate goal of the study is to bring attention to the facts, rather than the stereotypes, to raise awareness for helping professionals so that they can appropriately identify and intervene with survivors of sex trafficking.
