This study investigates the integration of cybersecurity within criminal justice education, aiming
to evaluate its current state and interdisciplinary significance. A systematic content analysis was
conducted on over 500 publications spanning from 2000 to 2025. The findings underscore the
pivotal role of criminal justice in cybersecurity education, research, and practice, particularly in
the era of AI advancements. To address empirical gaps, the study emphasizes the need to
redefine cybersecurity, distinguish it from computer security, and incorporate comprehensive
cybersecurity curricula into criminal justice programs. By emphasizing the unique perspective of
criminal justice, this research contributes to a broader understanding of the intersection between
these fields, fostering more effective strategies for addressing emerging cybersecurity issues.
