Community Violence Intervention (CVI) programs rely on timely information and coordinated responses. Traditionally, CVIs use police reports to direct community responses. However, accessing police records is slow, and documenting work is challenging with limited resources. ResourceRouter is a novel technology that provides real-time geospatial incident information, enabling rapid responses and automated documentation. We reviewed one month of ResearchRouter data on Miami-Dade street outreach to illustrate the benefits of this technology. Through gunshot detection, ResourceRouter identifies violence hot-spots. Through real-time geolocation, it tracks areas serviced by outreach teams. Areas visited, minutes per visit, and resources provided are recorded. Our analysis identified 3,634 at-risk areas and tracked 1,064 visits. Average visit times ranged from 15 to 58 minutes. Number of visits per worker ranged from 29 to 244. Resources provided included conflict mediation, health support, social/economic services, and assistance with environmental issues. ResourceRouter has been vital to our CVI, improving the timeliness of directed community responses and documentation of our work. ResourceRouter has also informed our broader community programs through targeted deployment of job and food assistance, healthcare needs, and CVI-led daycare and reading programs. We will continue to study its role in improving efficiency, building community trust, and reducing violence.
