Community Violence Intervention (CVI) programs have gained support in recent years. This shift has yielded promising results: more institutions have begun to explore how they can better serve violence victims, greater support has been provided to existing community-based organizations, and new community-based organizations have emerged seeking to address violence. Yet, collaboration between community-based organizations has been inconsistent. This has led to the emergence of a vibrant but fragile community-based anti-violence ecosystem where the collective impact of community-based organizations has yet to be realized. In this study, we interviewed 29 stakeholders from community-based organizations to better understand barriers to collaboration and the mechanisms to facilitate collaboration among community-based organizations. We identify key themes that emerge from the qualitative analysis and highlight the implications for CVI programs.
