Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Knowledge Graphs (KG) are resources that can be used not only as an analytical approach but also at the beginning of the research process. Leveraging KG and NLP, criminal justice research can further advance and promote interdisciplinary engagement and policy innovation. This talk aims to highlight some of the ways NLP and KG can aid researchers in identifying gaps in research, unfamiliar domain languages when conducting interdisciplinary research, and potentially overlooked connections between
disciplines. Additionally, bi- and multilingual extensions of these tools also show promise vis-a-
vis the navigation of language barriers, better supporting international and comparative
scholarship.
