Heterogeneous Effects of Early Entry into Adult Roles

Abstract

Precocious transitions into adult roles have been linked to several negative consequences over the life-course. Yet, the harms of premature role entry are not equally experienced across individuals exposed to off-timed transitions. Using data from the Rochester Youth Development Study (RYDS), this research examines variability in the developmental consequences of precocious transitions and explores factors that may help to explain this variation.
