Division on Corrections and Sentencing Mentoring Events: Successes and Opportunities

Abstract

Over the past two years, we have overseen a large, diverse mentoring program, where we have matched dozens of graduate student and assistant professor mentees to tenure track and tenured professor mentors. In the Spring semesters, we have hosted large, well-attended online events focused on applying for grants and, more recently, publishing an academic press book and journal articles. During this roundtable, we will discuss the successes and challenges of planning and executing events, including recruiting panelists and attendees and selecting event topics. We welcome and encourage discussion on ideas for improving future events and attendance.
