Abstract

The purpose of this lightning talk is to present the results of an analysis of the impact on basic recruit training length on complaints against officers, particularly use of force complaints. The analysis was based upon a combination of the 2020 Law Enforcement Management and Administrative Statistics (LEMAS) dataset and the 2022 Census of Law Enforcement Training Academies (CLETA) dataset. A Tableau dashboard will be included in the materials to allow for participants to explore the data
