Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
This panel discusses current professional development supports and needs of doctoral students and outlines the Doctoral Student Summit (DSS), a unique model of professional development aimed at supporting doctoral students in degree completion, developing positive academic identities, and building strong academic communities. Evaluation data from three DSS cohorts are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and impact of the DSS. Additional networking data show how participating in a professional development program supports co-authorships that facilitate more extensive networks.
