Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
While frequently mentioned that individuals on probation supervision often have too many conditions, many of which are not consistent with the results of their risk-need assessment tools, probation officers are required to oversee compliance with the conditions. This panel presents the Arnold Venture-sponsored study on efforts to improve condition setting in one state. The study is using local change teams to review factors that affect compliance with conditions and develop initiatives to impact on how conditions are set and monitored. Eleven offices from a statewide probation agency are participating in this project.
