Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
This panel addresses groups and ideologies that are generally under-explored in terrorism and extremist literature, including incel ideology, anti-abortion and animal rights groups, and far-left and environmental movements. The first paper uses linguistic analysis to assess online incel posts for factors associated with messaging influence. The second paper employs discursive analysis to examine anti-abortion and animal rights propaganda construction from two extremist groups. The final paper presents a multi-stage decision tree to define and operationalize far-left and environmental ideologically-motivated activity.
