Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
The field of policing, much like other professions, is continuously evolving, adapting its methods and strategies to enhance officer effectiveness and safety. Groundbreaking research in policing plays a pivotal role in driving the profession toward innovative practices and tactics. This unique panel aims to delve into the practical applications of policing scholarship, aiming to hone research efforts and promote evidence-based policing strategies to boost efficiency, increase officer safety, strengthen public safety, and enhance law enforcement policies. The panel features three presentations that will advance the academic policing literature by examining research through the lens of policing contexts. A discussant will wrap up the session by offering insights and posing questions, situating the presentations within the broader policing literature, and connecting them to the other panel discussions.
