Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
For the last four years, a group of scholars from across multiple disciplines have come together to present the latest research on virtually anything related to parole. Following the latest workshop conducted virtually in April, the workshop participants are putting together an edited volume on parole from a range of perspectives. The three presentations in this panel cover reentry challenges for the juvenile lifer population who are seeking or have received parole, the nuances in parole decision-making for individuals sentenced to life as emerging adults, a contemporary review of fines and fees for individuals under parole supervisions, and a dynamic understanding of parole board decision-making through the lens of juvenile lifer cases. Feedback from this panel will help contributors refine their work for the eventual volume.
