Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
For over a decade, NIJ has funded rigorous research studies to learn what works to keep students safe. In 2022, NIJ published The Causes and Consequences of School Violence: A Review, a meta-analysis of meta-analyses conducted by Jillian Turanovic and Sonja Siennick. Since the publication of that white paper, NIJ has funded studies that build on the results of that work. This panel highlights recent findings from three NIJ-funded studies aimed at addressing some of the root causes of school violence. This panel will highlight how findings may enhance school violence prevention and intervention programs and, ultimately, policy and practice.
