Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel

Abstract/Description

This panel presents research from members of the University of Cincinnati’s Crime and Sociogenomics Throughout the Life course (CASTLE) Lab. Broadly, this panel investigates the etiology of criminal and delinquent behavior across the life course, considering the complex interplay between biology and environment over time. Presentations investigate individual variation in perceptions of risk of apprehension for criminal behavior; the complex relationship between peers, self-control, and delinquency over the life course; the role of schools in the relationship between ADHD and school discipline; and how individuals perceive their own criminal behavior compared to others. Implications for policy and practice are discussed.
